To use this, you find the degrees by the whole number that is inside the circle. The radians are the furthest number inside the circle. So 30 degrees equals pi/6 radians. The cos and sin of each point are the numbers outside the circle (cos, sin). So the cos and sin of 30 degrees equals (sqrt 3/2 , 1/2). To find the tan, you use sin/cos. So the tan of 30 degrees equals (1/2)/(sqrt 3/2) which, simplified, equals sqrt 3/1.
